The Divi 5 Loop Builder brought you freedom, Divi Loop Extender gives you control.
Why we built it
TL;DR version
The Loop Builder in Divi 5 lets you design dynamic templates directly in the Visual Builder, but it’s limited to basic query options. You can order by date or title, filter by category, and that’s about it.
We wanted something that could handle real-world projects like sites with custom fields, relationship data, and WooCommerce products that need smart filtering. Divi Loop Extender fills those gaps by extending the existing Loop settings instead of adding another layer of modules.
Everything happens right inside the Loop Builder tab you already know.
What Divi Loop Extender adds
Smarter control over what shows up
You can now filter and order content using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), custom meta, author, status, or even user relationships. Want to show posts by the logged-in user? Easy. Want to display related items that share the same ACF field value? Done.
Maybe that is a bit of an oversimplification, so let me detail the key features for you which fall into the categories below.
This amazing feature for the loop builder now allows you to create context and options of users in relation to what they are browsing on your Divi 5 sites.
How? Let me tell you.
Imagine building a real estate site where each property is a Custom Post Type with an ACF field called city.
With ACF Field Matching, you can instantly show “Other Properties in the Same City” no manual linking required.

Or picture an Events site:
Each event links to one or more Performer posts via an ACF Post Object field. On the event page, you can show the performers and even list other events featuring those same performers using Reverse Relationship Queries.
That is the power of Divi Loop Extender and relationship-aware filtering.
Face it, most loops need more than one sorting condition. Multi-level sorting in Divi Loop Extender lets you define a primary order and add fallback layers so your results remain consistent when multiple items share the same value.
This feature extends Divi 5’s native Loop element sorting by supporting chained order priorities. For example, you can sort by event date first, then alphabetically by title, ensuring a stable and predictable output.
| Priority | Field | Order |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | ACF event_date | Ascending |
| 2 | ACF priority | Ascending |
| 3 | Post Title | Ascending |
This ensures consistent, predictable results even when multiple posts share the same value.
Perfect for events, course listings, and product catalogs.
I like to think about these enhancements as Divi BodyCommerce on Ozempic because you get to show and order the products that are most relevant to your users in the ways that matter most.
Divi Loop Extender adds 7 new Order By options to the loop builder settings giving you full control over what the user sees first.

It also gives you the ability to filter those products based on relationships like brand, rating, status, & more!
Oh, did I mention you can even filter your WooCommerce products by product type? Yes!
Only show virtual or downloadable products like your latest ChatGPT prompting guide PDF, or maybe you want to have a section on your landing page for all your grouped products, Divi Loop Extender enables you to do that.

How it works inside Divi 5
Once installed, Divi Loop Extender adds a few new options inside the existing Loop settings panel. You’ll find extra dropdowns for field selection, relationship types, and sorting order. Choose what you need, and Divi will render the results directly inside the Visual Builder preview.

Why Now?
Sure, that is a fair question, I’d be asking the same.
As you already know, we have been working overtime to get our plugins ready for Divi 5 to make sure you have the best possible tools for the best possible page builder when it drops later this year.
Part of that journey was getting familiar with the new loop builder in Divi 5 and seeing how we can integrate our existing loop-focused plugins directly into it instead of only adding modules on top of it. Not everybody needs a powerhouse plugin like Divi BodyCommerce or Divi Machine, do they?
Enter Divi Loop Extender.
An easy to use little plugin that integrates directly into the Divi 5 loop tab to extend what is already good with what we have learned.
This was definitely less us coming up with a new plugin idea, and more seeing how we can add value to Divi 5 for a broader audience while working on our shiny new Divi 5 versions.
That said, we have made amazing progress on Divi 5 and this direct integration into the loop builder is just the start. Definitely keep an eye on our Divi 5 roadmap page because we will have another Divi 5 Dev Update for you real soon.
The Bottom Line
Divi 5 + Divi Loop Extender = Total Content Freedom.
From related posts and custom directories to smart WooCommerce grids and author dashboards, you can now build them visually, cleanly, and intelligently.
And we are not stopping here, there is still lots more on the way from Divi Engine, and we appreciate each and every one of you!
