Why we’re excited about Divi 5
One thing we absolutely love about Divi 5 is how lean it is. The old PHP-based system loaded everything – all those visual builder settings, admin stuff – right on the front end. Sites got sluggish. Now with the new React-based framework, the code stays separate. Your visitors only get what they need, and your sites run faster because of it.
Yes, converting all our modules to new Divi 5 architecture has been a massive undertaking. But the performance benefits for your sites make it worthwhile.
Divi Ajax Filter is ready
We didn’t just port Divi Ajax Filter to Divi 5 – we rebuilt it better. Here’s what’s new:
REST API filtering – We switched to a REST API for all filtering operations. Your filters are now snappier and more responsive than ever.
New settings framework – All plugin settings now live in one clean, React-based interface. No more hunting through Divi Theme Options. Everything’s organized with tabs for each plugin, and you can search both settings AND documentation right from the dashboard. Found a setting with a gear icon? Click it and you’re taken straight to that option.
Template picker – When you add an Archive Loop module, a popup helps you choose from preset styles (blog grid, image gallery, minimal list view) and query templates. You’re up and running in seconds instead of configuring everything from scratch.
Loop Builder integration – Divi Ajax Filter now works seamlessly with Divi’s Loop Builder. Want full creative control over your layouts? Build your own loop template with any modules you want, and our filters will handle the rest.
Custom filter parameter placement – You can now specify exactly where filter parameters appear on your page using a simple CSS class. No more being stuck with default positioning.
Shared code improvements – We unified the loop options across our products. When we add a feature to the loop settings, it updates everywhere. Less maintenance headaches for us, better consistency for you.
New settings framework you’ll actually enjoy using

We know you’ve been patient through several iterations of our settings pages. This is the final one, and we’re confident you’ll love it.
The new framework includes searchable documentation and settings, light and dark mode options, direct access to support tickets and docs, and all your licenses managed in one place. When this rolls out to larger plugins like BodyCommerce with hundreds of settings, finding what you need becomes so much easier.
What’s coming next
Divi Form Builder is next in line for the Divi 5 treatment. Development is progressing well, and it’ll be the next plugin we release with full Divi 5 support.
Divi Machine is being developed simultaneously. We’re not just converting it – we’re adding new features that take advantage of Divi 5’s architecture.
BodyCommerce development kicks off as we wrap up Divi Machine. Part of our team will start that work while we’re finishing up Machine.
All those query options and loop features you’re seeing in Divi Ajax Filter and Loop Extender? They’re coming to Divi Machine and BodyCommerce too. Same unified codebase, same great features across all our loop-based plugins.
And don’t be surprised if some brand new plugins show up along the way. We’ve got other things in the works that should help you build even better Divi sites.
Backwards compatibility matters
We’re committed to making sure our Divi 4 versions work properly in Divi 5’s backwards compatibility mode. If you’re running our existing plugins with Divi 5 and hit any issues, please contact support. This helps us squash bugs while Elegant Themes continues refining backwards compatibility on their end.
